Sheet metal folding
I think i'm going to make some new vented side panels out of aluminium but will need to turn one edge back on itself so it's not sharp.
Any idea how to do this? I also need someone with a metal folder near Stevenage, Herts if anyone knows anyone.

Block of wood, a bit of angle iron and a hammer have always worked for me. Wood one on the exterior side, angle on the inner as in my case it's
longer, and then gently hammer the fold over with another bit of wood.

Pretty well the same for me, but i used two bits of wood, sandwiched the alui in between, and drilled/screwed the bood together both ends
All worked fine

As the two previous posts, a safe edge can be produced without the need for a folder.
Clamping is all important to give a nice crisp fold line. As has again been said, use a hammer and a length of wood to tap the edge over evenly making
sure you do a bit at a time. Don't try for a right angle in one go! A right angle is what you should be aiming for. Now here's the clever
bit. Place the aluminium on the bench with the upstand vertical and clamp the aluminium tightly to the bench. You can now carefully tap the bend over
again a bit at a time and evenly until it is folded back on its self. Once you have broken the line, which you have done in the first operation, the
fold will continue on that line. A few pics of one I did earlier.
