Introduction (sort of) and roll bar question
I've been a lurker on here for a long time. I had a Mk2 Escort rather than a Locost, so didn't really post very much. Well, the Escort was
stolen in Feb and I've taken a long time deciding on if and what I should replace it with. I've now bought a Westfield SEiW, crossflow
powered. Got it home last weekend. It is in very much road spec currently, but I'll be updating a couple of bits on it as time and money allow.
So hopefully I'll be able to contribute a bit more to the forum. Here's a little piccy for interest:
Description
I intend to do the odd sprint in it, as I did with the Escort. As you can see from the picture it only has a single roll hoop, which I'd like to
upgrade. However, I'd like to be able to retain the use of the hood (including "pram bars"!). I'm thinking of a hoop with
single diagonal and two backstays. Does anyone know of a company that produces one that allows use of the hood? I don't believe the Playskool
one does, am I best of getting one from Westfield themselves? I've had a go with the search but haven't turned anything up.
Thanks in advance if anyone can offer any pointers.

I would imagine that you'd be best off getting a genuine westfield one. It should fit and it isn't ridiculously expensive
linky to parts catalogue here

Hi
Re roll bar the genuine Westfield item DOES NOT comply with MSA regulations. It is too small on dia ( below 45mm ) the radius's are too small
and to cap it off it uses rose joints on the rear stays which are not a recognised method of jointing by the MSA. Westfield are fully aware off this
and do advise accordingly.
However there are three recognized suppliers of roll cage / bar for Westfields. Caged - Playskool - and myself Procomp motorsport.
