Are the wheels on backwards?
Is it just me or are the wheels on the wrong way? I would have thought they would act like buckets or scoops to throw the sand back?

looks like they are. or it goes in reverse alot.

No they are on the correct way otherwise you would get very little drive in the sand if they were the other way round

Yep they are on the correct way - think about the way the wheels turn when going forward! The flatter bucket face will scoop the sand.
If they were the other way the ramp profile would find no bite.
They're just not as aggressive as some sand bucket tyres.

I had assumed wrong - so what your saying is the 'Cleats' are designed to list the vehicle up and out of soft sand rather than dig you
deeper

Yes, and before the 'scoops' throw sand backwards, they have done a nice job digging in and propelling the vehicle forward. They're
on the right way.

Paddle Tires
The paddles are hollowed on the back side so they scoop sand as they go along. The best way to tell is that the sides (side wall area) of the paddles
are angled so they are in tension when the paddle is in contact with the ground.
