Obp kit car pedal box

I've just received my obpkc011 pedals but I'm abit confused as to how to install the throttle cable to the pedal as the pedal doesn't really have a section that comes forward to pull the cable

Hope you get a good solution to this one.
Its a nice bit of kit but for the life of me I couldn't work out a good routing for the throttle cable.

OBP will tell you to drill a small hole and add a slit in the end to feed the cable through. But this gives you a vertical cable pull that I couldn't make work on my build, the routing and angles just seemed wrong.

Here's some pictures of how it was

I've since spend a day modifying mine to turn the pedal into a bottom pull and come through the lower chassis rail, this works 100% better.

In my opinion they should offer a different pedal with a return spring and adjuster, I wouldn't have minded paying a bit extra for that.

Sierra, send me your email via u2u and I will send a rough drawing of what I am doing (very rough)
I am still going from the top but using a guide wheel after the adjuster (top) with a swivel at the pedal.
This also requires some fabrication work.

The bottom pull may very well still be the best solution as Mike describes (picture would be good Mike).

It's a shame because the OBP Box quality is good, I would have thought that by now they would have been able to supply a better solution (I did ask..).

I will try and get photos up if it works...............

Anyone got the solution to uploading pics from iPad yet??

I'll dig out some pictures when I get a chance.
My other option was some form of guide wheel and a decent pivot on the pedal for the cable, in the end the bottom pull mod seemed easyest.

I had to weld two plates to the side of pedal support adding about 20mm to the pivot point of the pedal. I then welded an extension below the pivot point on the pedal to give the "pull" lever arm.

This mod gives me 20mm cable pull, which is just enough to fully open my carbs. It would have been tricky to get much more cable pull without having the pedal sat too high.

Still haven't come up with a second spring for pedal return yet, not sure if one is needed for IVA.

Right bit of an update, I've managed to fit the throttle cable and all looks ok but now come onto a few more issues. I'm going to buy a Capri clutch cable but wondering if anyone knows the size of the eyelet as I want to put a bolt through it to fix it to the pedal.
Also I've noticed that I need to join the front brake lines before fitting to the master cylinder and was wondering a few things
-where to get the t piece from (what size)
-do the 2 brake lines need to be equal length before the t piece
-are the fittings the same on my old Sierra master as the obp master

Many thanks
