Insurance for a young driver
Anyone recomend any good insurance companies for young learner drivers, had a quote to put him on my wifes insurance for a fiat 500 and they want an
extra £1300.
He is selling his mini 1275 and going to look for a car cheaper to insure so going to look for cars that are cheap to insure any recomendations.
Think about it, think about it again and then do it.

I looked into this a year or so ago and we have:
The mini he's selling (although probably better in 1000 flavour)
Morris Minor
Fiat Chinky-something
106 (although it wasn't really)

I have heard the Ford KA is quite a popular car for first drives due to cheap insurance (I say cheap but it will still probably cost more than the car
for a just passed/learning driver) - Tip for you though, when he does pass and insures his vehicle, make sure if possible both parents are put on the
policy, it usually brings the cost down. Well it usto anyway. Other than that all I can suggest is use the price comparison sites, I managed to get
£300 knocked from my renewal price this way this year!
It may be more cost effective to enroll him on an intensive driving course (I think for a 5 day course it's something just short of £1000) one
of my friends did this when they was younger and said it was worth it but that was a few years back.

The cheapest car I found was a seat arosa, nice little car. there is a tracker type option which some insurance companies offer, can't remember
the name of it, but that knocks a huge amount off the premiums

I bought my 17 daughter a lupo last year, she has just re insured this year for only £580 with diamond again, and she is only 18, and only 9 mths
after she past her test, the lupo's are great cars, and still look a bit retro, she loves it

Managed to get it from £1652 down to £922.00 so i will keep working on it to get it down.
He will now have to change his mind to a more realistic car type, wonder if it would be cheaper on a small engine kit car (not a 7 )

Mate of mines daughters first car is a 1098 46 year old MG Midget
Cheap to insure and so different
He has put an ekectronic programable distributor on for reliability
I eat to survive
I drink to forget
I breath to pi55 my ex wife off (and now my ex partner)
