Well finally made another step forward....!
Thanks for everyone's advice on the site, all very helpful!
So finally got my engine running a bit better with a smaller carb and messing around with floats, fuel mixtures, colortunes and timing and took it to
the friendly local garage to get the emissions checked, it actually passed!!!!
(although i'm still not completely convinced, was a bit border...)
Either way gave VOSA a call and asked them to book me a retest, so awaiting a call sometime tomorrow and the guy reckons it could be next week!!!
EXCITED does not sum it up, maybe i will be on the road this year!!!!!
Then again, have got to deal with DVLA afterwards....

be quick...before they close all the local offices....some go next week, and another batch in November....all to be closed by the end of the year...
