cheap electric winch

Need a cheap electric winch to drag my car and trailer into the garage.

There's some on eBay for £50, will these be up to the job?

My local Lidl had the hoist type for £49 i nearly got one, even though i dont need one

But i would imagine it could be used as a winch, double purpose

Thats was probably spelt wrong, or had some grammer, that the "grammer police have to have a moan at

Get one rated for around 2 tons, that should be enough.

My electric hoist like the aldi one is only good for lifting an engine, refuses to lift my v8 with trans and transfer box.

Bought one of the cheap ebay ones. Used it once and binned it. Yes it was strong enough to move car but was painfully slow. The motor was the size if a remote control car motor then geared down massively, we are taking a few mm per second. Ended up using one from the front of an old landrover

My £50 special has been great for 7 years now, it's quick as well.

I have a £29.99 Netto special and it's fine. I've used it for lifting the engine in and out of a couple of my cars with no trouble. It's also had a couple of weeks on a building site lifting stuff up the scafolding.

Just spent £50 on one of the lidl 250kg 'hoists'. Should be OK mounted horizontally to drag the trailer up the drive I hope :-)
