Perfecting my AutoCAD Skills, thought id redesign a book dimension bottom wishbone to utilise a more common design and with bush tubes suitable for polybushes.

What do you think?

Other than the length of the shock absorber dictating wher the shock mount goes, whats the significance of it going as close to the ball joint as possible ?

its stronger , theres less leverage on the mounting point - ive seen a really good idea - i think it was on a swedish built car - IMHO , although im not commenting on designs , this is the point which causes failures or bending because the bottom wishbone is loaded unevenly

Hi Chris,

Suggest you make the wishbone arm tubing larger in dia. Luego have upgraded to 25mm dia.
The Aussies appear to have similar web plate, but welded to upper centre-line of wish bone tubing.
See attached example. Rescued attachment OzBone2.jpg

Dick

Although it might not look like it, but i have upgraded the main tubes to 25mm x 2mm wall thickness, it might not look like because ive also upgraded the bush tube sizes to incorporate a polybush as well, or were you suggesting a thicker wall thickness as well?

Cheers.

PS i may not make these for my self its really just an exercise in producing the wishbones to see how accurate i can make them.
