Type 9 no spring (saddle?)

Hi guys,

Done a bit of searching and think I might know what the problem is but wanted to check with the brains here...
Basically when changing gears on my type 9, there's hardly any Spring on the gear change so the gearstick kind of just stays where it is
Standard position seems to be in between 1st and 2nd rather than 3rd and 4th, and doesn't spring back when you want to knock it to neutral.

From searching, it could just be the saddle?
It looks like I have got one in there still under the grease somewhere but I guess could be worn.
Would a saddle cause this problem and would this be an OK replacement:

HEAVY DUTY FORD TYPE 9 GEARBOX GEARSTICK SADDLE Sierra kitcar quaife tran-x MKF

Cheers
Andy
