2005 Shows

Just seen some show dates in Luego section for 2005.

Why there are no shows during the sunniest summer months beats me. Harrogate show is mid June and then nothing until October.

If the organisers could pull their fingers out of their arses, I'm sure they could make a few quid during July, August & September.

One at the suffolk show ground would be nice - fed up with having to drive hundreds of miles

Newark is normally in July I think.

Can't understand why Luego aren't going to be there as they're only down the A1 from the show.

Ah well..

Would anyone drive down to Penzance for one?

I could organise a Lands End run, but I would only have to drive 10 miles!

They did a show at the Braintree showground - that was a total waste of time, as far as I was concerned, as hardly any trade stands turned up.

I vote for the Suffolk Showground as well (at least I know where that one is! )

There is an annual hotrod show at suffolk show ground (never had a chance to go yet ). And nope - i don't know when it's on!

But seeing as the show ground is only 2 miles from my house I think I will make the effort this year!

Has anyone thought about organising a national Locost meet, perhaps at Billing Aquadrome, pretty central. This could happen in August. I, for one, would be interested in that. Advertised in newsletter, on web, to get the most coverage. Locost Car Club and Locostbuilders could jointly promote. Invite Luego, MK, Stuart Taylor, Lolocost etc, be a fine weekend out!

What a fine idea

After Donington last year billing was mentioned by a few unhappy clubs, maybe someone should should talk to robin hood owners and Dutton.
I think the Dutton owners were canvasing for ideas and fancied the chance of a different venue.

Billing is now a Land Rover venue I will now not camp at.
I have camped at that meet for 8 of the last 10 shows (not the last two cos of the cost)... NOT anymore!

£60+ for a weekend's camping at the LR show is TOOOOOOO Expensive.
Basically a RIP OFF.
They Pack the place, and I believe its just too much money for a weekends camp. I just go for the Day, its still a Tenner to get in just me in my Landy for the day.

I would also suspect there are a lot more Landy owners visiting and camping at the show, compared with Kit car people.
It might not be economicaly viable to hire Billing.
Having said that smaller groups have the place for Car owner meets.

However, only ever having visited Donnington (Kit Car Show), I could be talking from my Dangerous Gas Vent.
