I also have the May 2000 second edition with the subtitle "AND RACE IT" which is signed by the man hisself with a personal message to
"Mick". This is in almost immaculate condition & is as good as any Haynes manual sat on the shelf in Halfrauds.
I'm sorry, don't know how to post piccys here.
What would a good starting price to ask be???
Cheers.
Look on eBay, in principle not a lot! in practice there have been silly prices when out of print..
Amazon has some listings, not sure who would pay ~£100 still each to their own, might be able to fund a new build?

considering you can download the CAD drawings off the web for nothing I'd not see much use for them

It used to be sooo friendly in these parts all those years ago, I guess you weren't around when the pseudonyms of many famous racers were into
their builds.
Never mind tho', I'll take all the other 'highly desireable' bits n pieces in the back of the garage off to Facebook.

Let's look at the facts.
First post, no introduction or any information about what you are building but clearly joined to sell stuff. You could have listed on ebay but came
here in the hope that this is the best audience for your wares.
There is a for sale section but that requires probably requires a number of previous posts.
So make of that what you will.
Are you building an engine based project and located?
PS I've been here longer than most, perhaps too long....

But, but, but I wasn't here to sell anything. I was asking if there was any value in them.
TTFN.

Fair enough you weren't selling but why else ask?
Was it for insurance purposes?
I was just pointing out that as a first post it was not cricket.
So how about showing that you joined not to peddle stuff, so what have you built, are building or planning to build? Photos please.

Problem with the books are the first one is based on a classic Escort which by now if any are left they probably will be way too expensive to use as a
donor and even the Sierra based cars are now approaching the same issue... indeed when was the last time you saw one on the road?? so apart from being
an interesting read they are not worth anything now and certainly not required to build a 7.
There probably needs to be a new version of the book based on something modern but as I said the plans are on the web for free, I have a set printed
out in the drawer from ages ago.

Simple answer is yes, someone will want them who is starting their journey in building, rebuilding or running a Locost, particualrly if they have not
much experience with old cars, or understanding of space frame chassis construction and kit cars.
There is some useful info in them, including inspiration, even if the costs and availability of donor parts has changed as well as the spec for the
race series (e.g. for roll cages). Up to £20 for both?
For newbies reading these with a copy of Allan Staniforth's 'Race and Rally Car Source Book', and if you really want to mould your
own grp panels read Simon McBeath's 'Competition Car Composites'. Plus reading and contributing to this website, including finding
about errors in the book and build tips.
Cheers
Mike

I also have a signed copy of one of the books but doubt it is worth much? My very first post on this forum I was selling something , reading between
the lines it may be the OP has possibly at sometime been a member of this forum.

I don't do Facebook, can you post here or u2u me especially if I am mentioned.
If the OP has a problem then post here and point out to which part is wrong when I said they only joined here with intention to sell. He should not
be slagging off locost builders ad it wad just me who said it like it was.
Not that I m bothered either way, time is too precious to argue over something like this.... but I'm still awaiting to read a out the OP c
engine based project...

Can’t find the Facebook post but he didn’t mention any user names just saying the forum was unfriendly. I must admit it did seem that he had joined
just to sell his books.
