Wiring help
Hi guys,
I’m currently fitting wipers to my car but thought I’d use the opportunity to tidy up some wiring.
I’ve just extended some wires to have better routing to the back of the car, but now when just checking some pin outs my n/s indicator and o/s
taillight wires have continuity to the chassis.
My battery is removed from the car at the moment, it might be a really stupid question but would a live through a bulb that ultimately grounds on the
other side show continuity to the chassis when tested through the live wire, or have I just done something stupid?
Hopefully that make sense, appreciate any help.
Regards
Andrew

yes via a bulb will show continuity on a meter. you should test on ohms.
just think, how do you test a bulb with a continuity meter?
if its ok (not blown) it shows continuity, and goes beep,
if it is blown it shows no continuity

& to add to the above, if the side other than the live doesn't go to earth than it's never going to light!
I no longer run Furore Products or Furore Cars Ltd, but would still highly recommend them for Acewell dashes, projector headlights, dominator
headlights, indicators, mirrors etc, best prices in the UK! Take a look at http://www.furoreproducts.co.uk/ or find more parts on Ebay, user names
furoreltd & furoreproducts, discounts available for LCB users.
Don't forget Stainless Steel Braided brake hoses, made to your exact requirements in any of around 16 colours.

Thanks all, thought it was a dumb question but was one of those cases of having my head in wires for hours on end and then doubting what I was doing!

Remove the bulbs, if you still have continuity between live and chassis/ground, something ain't right.
