When to dipose of the donor

Hi All
Ive stripped my donor sierra and want to get rid of the shell from my drive(or rather my wife does)
What do I need to have to use the reg number for the Locost
I know it has to be inspected for registration but when do I need to do this
(my car is still only a rolling chassis?

Any info would help

Cheers

you can NEVER use the reg number for the locost.

Your car is a 'new' or 'different' car and cannot have the identity of the donor.

You get the VIN from your local VRO. The VIN will be different from the donor.

What you DO need to keep is the log book. if you can prove that you used a fair few parts from the donor, and that your chassis has been built new, you can get an age related plate from the year of the donor. So, if your donor was an E reg, your car can be E reg, but you need the log book to prove donor.

Junk the shell, its worth nothing to you. Neither is its VIN.

As a technicality, you could use your donor registration. You get the donor reg number put on a retention certificate. You get your car registered with an age related plate, then get the number transferred over.

If you can see the point of that you beat me.
