Anyone know the 2.3 Seirra gearbox well?
Anyone know if the 2.3 seirra gearbox has different ratios for the petrol and diesel?
If they do, any one know how to tell them apart, or which has what ratios?
Sorry for all the questions, but thanks in advance for any replys.
Regards

you probably already know this but heres a bit of info :
2.3 Sierra V6 boxes were four speed (type B) and optional 5 speed type (N1)
type B
3.65:1 1
1.97:1 2
1.37:1 3
1.00:1 4
- -- - 5
3.66:1 R
type N1
3.36:1 1
1.81:1 2
1.26:1 3
1.00:1 4
0.83:1 5
3.36:1 R
As for the diesel i woulds of said it would be roughly the same as the 2.0 box if anything. Don't quote me on that though

a diesel typically revs to 4,500 and not 6000 aw it would be for a petrol engine.
So, summat somewhere has a different ratio - the diff perhaps? or the box?
