It is quiet... too damn quiet.
Er...
Chassis finished & painted
panels mostly on (only top of rear panel to go)
scuttle almost finished & ready for paint
pedal box finished & ready for paint
roll-over bar made & awaiting paint
nosecone "adjusted" & ready to fit
all suspension bits made & ready
front uprights & back axle ready
Engine rebored, rebuilt & "dressed" ready for fitting
Next jobs:
Wait for the Rubbercoat underseal to dry*
turn it over and finish the back panel
paint the suspension bits, then fit them
make the top panel (where the battery goes)
do stuff to the gearbox (e.g. oil filler on the top)
fit all the bits on
think about the electrics
Phew!
Enough for now?
David
* That Rubbercoat stuff really stinks!

I've got my chassis all welded up just waiting for a set of wishbones and some axle brackets from Merlin (oh and I'm trying to decide which engine
to use)

Hello...
Well, If I dont stop redesigning things and start building more, I'll take forever. My chassis now bears bugger all resemblance to the book one -
it's wicked though.
And I can't find anybody with a big enough set of Vernier calipers to measure up for my adaptor plate - that's holding me up a little.
Oh and I've just been layed off work and will start running out of money very quickly.
Apart from that everything's great!

Barely started myself. Can't start the chassis till I've finished re-designing it- hopefully that'll be tonight so may be able to start chassis at
welding class on Thursday.
Still haven't got a donor sorted- just to make things difficult I'm after a later model Pinto and Guildford so not seem to be awash with them.
With neither a chassis nor a donor it's mighty hard to get anything else done as it all seems to rely on measurements or info from atleast one of
those two.
Did start the rear uprights for the IRS last night tho' so atleast that's something!

The boards a bit quiet so
Not as quiet as 'The Dark Side'!
They had ~1700 posts in January, it's now 2/3 through March and there're only ~280.
Maybe it's something about March- people actually start to get on with their cars instead of spending building time online!

Pile of bits that's going to become a chassis in the near future.
Apart from that, I'm rebuilding the engine and cleaning various other parts.

In the process of buying a mig and gene from Loot.com, both really good prices. Getting taught how to use a mig at nightschool this week, then all
I've got to do is make the impossible decision on IRS or Live axel, and what engine, want the bike power badly, just got to find the cash.....Should
be starting the chassis in a couple of weeks....

Bought the book, bought an escort donor and a second hand Mig. Planning to have the donor ripped to pieces by the end of the month.

Got to rolling chassis stage, all that was left was the wiring on the engine and the fuel tank. THEN, in a fit of complete madness I decided to start
again! This time I have got further in just 5 weeks than I did in the previous 18 months!! Car now just waiting for the basic engine wiring and a few
last nuts and bolts then it's the dreaded SVA for me...
Have original chassis for sale if it's any use to anyone, built to the book and very reasonably priced!!
If anyone is stuck for anything see my add in Parts for sale/wanted ' "Laser Man"

Haven't started mine yet. It's all in my head for now. I'm still doing research (parts, legal, LHD specific etc.)
I still need to get the book too.
I plan on starting the build sometime in May.

Done a lot on the computer, not a lot in the garage though. But in saying that, I've go all the metal cut for chassis number 2, panels are cut, donor
stripped, cleaned and dumped, lots of digi's in case I forget what wire goes where and I'm just just about to start making fibreglass bits, and
I've got the rear uprights designed and built. But in saying that I still plan to have everything together but the end of the month and hopefully
SVA'd for Stoneleigh, woohoo! but I really need a good couple of days to get stuck in without work getting in the way!

I'm doing a lot of reading but I haven't started building yet. In fact I haven't even decided that I should give it a try. It is tempting though.
Once the reading is through I will start building the car in my head, make a list of things to do and see where I can find the things I need.
Best regards,

1 on the road and number 2 at rolling chassis stage. Making engine mounts at the moment, should finish them on Thurs. Then it's pedal box / master
cyl. and making a wiring loom. Can't use donor one as steering column is off my Manta.
