performance wise
i know it will all depend on the overall weight and what parts you use but if anyone could give me some rough estimates of performance with the
popular engine options etc
like 0-60 time rougly and top speed i woudl appreciate it
also if you could tell me roughly how much insurance costs you it would be nice

My Pinto engined MK Indy does 0-60 in just over 4 seconds and tops out at about 120 mph.

I suspect most cars with 150-170bhp car engines or 130bhp bike engined cars will do a sub 5 sec 0-60. top speed is not that brilliant with most cars
struggling to top 120 mph. The top speed is not an issue as anything over 70-80 for any time is very wearing. These cars are suited to sprint style
driving, if you want top speed get a car with enclosed bodywork. Insurance is low with most drivers with a good risk factor paying between £150-£300,
young drivers up to £500, that is fully comp limited mileage.

My 2l Zetec-engined Fury will top out about 130mph. Not sure on 0-60 but is pretty quick

Our 893 Fireblade used to hit 60 in about 4 seconds... a standard tune car engined car of 2.0ltr should be hitting it 5-6 seconds. More than enough to
see 99% of proddy cars on the road.

My 0-60 time is unknown, but it gets to 80 by the time you think it should be doing 50, and will pull hard to 125 before I remind myself I made my own
propshaft!
If you can keep you head, whilst all others around you are losing theirs, you are not fully aware of the situation

by the time the peddel hits the floor its time to change out of first ,the next 3 gears are pritty much the same and thats around 108mph 5th takes it
to 114ish and 6th 120
i wish the first 5 gears were alot taller maybe around 130 to stop it maxing out on track days and then top gear would be nice to have as an over
drive ,not for the top speed,just so that i could cruise at a noise level that doesnt make my ears bleed

I don't think 0-60 times really mean much, it's hard to understand just how sharp these cars are.
Get someone to take you for a spin in one. It'll all become clear then. If performance is your thing a bike engine is highly recommended.

iv had 5.2sec 0/60 with a passnger in (stop watch) would say 4.9 best on my own
and over 120mph. the speedo stops at 120 but its still pulls
the engine is a vaxhall 2.0 16v with twin 45`s
the box is a type9 ford

i'm only running a standard tune 1.6 pinto, save for a K&N and the MK exhaust, and it's quicker than a new 1.8 sri corsa, and a damn
sight quicker than most stuff off lights and roundabouts. i'd probably say about 7 seconds 0-60, if that. top end, i sat on the arse of an s
type jag today, all the way from collingham to dunham bridge, and he couldn't get away
to put it more simply, i thought it'd be sort of slow and it's anything but! it's enough to beat anything through the twistys, and i
don't think i'll be looking for anything bigger for a bit yet.
i'm 19, living in wf12, passed test less than a year (a year on the 5th next month), driving a 1.6 pinto indy, limited to 1500 miles a year.
there's my dad on the policy, but that only serves to add £18 for an extra driver. all that comes to £827.40 a year with footman james, and they
don't do direct debit. they're the only company that would touch me, being under 21.
