How can this be funny?

Did it definitely hit people? It looked to me as if it MIGHT have miraculously missed everyone? Either way, it's still not what I'd call
funny, some people have a weird sense of humour...

For us in the UK and Europe that means 2.54mm (just to be peadantic!)  We've moved on quite a lot since the 70's.
You would still recognise that ok in the USA...
Now I'll get my coat...
