Did it definitely hit people? It looked to me as if it MIGHT have miraculously missed everyone? Either way, it's still not what I'd call funny, some people have a weird sense of humour...

For us in the UK and Europe that means 2.54mm (just to be peadantic!) We've moved on quite a lot since the 70's.

You would still recognise that ok in the USA...
