A friend has one - perfectly OK as long as you are realistic about its capabilities.

He's currently using it to build parts of a very large 5" gauge mainline loco (11/16" to the foot scale)!

Useless comment coming up......

Do you know what I like best about this site and their range ? (I've just looked).

They all have proper names of the sort that we had when Britain was earning it's name as the workshop of the world. Names that conjuring up images of noisy oily industry taking place in the midlands, where engineers learned and earned their pay.

Don't get me wrong - they're still made in the far east (obviously), but with names like conquest, centurion, craftsman, coventry, challenger and CUB - they just sound more proper.

I almost want to buy one now (and a brown lab coat and pipe. Oh and a pair of Brogues and a tin of brylcreem).

I'll get me coat...

I have a Chester 920 and I've stripped the long travel rack twice now

As long as you realise it's limitations it should be OK.

I also stripped teeth from the nylon main gear.

That's because it's got a number and not a proper name beginning with the letter "C" although I bet you've called it a few.

yours, Pete

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

The 920 looks a very small machine like that one from machinemart. How did you strip the gears
