Air-horn hose
I've just got my electrics sorted (whoopie!) and everything seems to work, apart from my hazard warning switch. 8-(
Now for the important stuff - anyone know where I can get tough flexible plastic hose to connect up my air horns? It's about 4 - 5mm inside
diameter, but quite thick-walled.
They only gave a piddling little bit in the package...
Mind you, the horn compressor makes an impressive "prrthp!" when I hit the switch... who needs trumpets! 8-)

That's a thought - would take the pressure, but might be too bulky.
I'll have to have a look...

Look in the yellow pages for hose and hydraulic suppliers, industrial pnematics use many sizes of tube and it can be obtained in nylon or polyurathane
.braided pvc hose as used for air tools also would work.

Don't RS components have stuff like this by the metre in the mechanical part of their catalog?

Damn, I'd forgotten them! That's a thought...
Trouble is, I doubt that they would sell me 2 metres! 200, maybe.
DJ
Postscript - just had a look at RS - 25 metres at around £17.50 + P&P + VAT. I think I'll carry on looking.
Actually, previous posters have made a useful suggestion. There's a air & hydraulic hose supply house in my local town - might be worth a
visit on Saturday.

That is a shame. We have a company in the US called McMaster Carr who will sell you 2 metres of tubing or even 1 washer for a few cents...Ok it may be
2 dollars postage, but the no minimum order is really useful.
And, they have almost everything you can imagine...and in stock...
Of course doesn't help you much though.........

Bob,
You're a genius! I've been racking my brain, as I had this mental image of a shop with a whole rack covered with reels of plastic tubing
- and I've just remembered where it was!
It's a big pet supply house in Ipswich, specialising in assorted fish keeping.
Another place to visit in the coming days!

I have to confess to being one of those annoying twats in the late 70's with the dukes of hazard horns and some.
Embarrassed now but at least the link to the pipes was a help

Halfords sell packs of the same kinda tubing used in a tropical fish shop.
Its for washer jets and comes in different sizes.

Steve,
Every so often I go into Halfords and totally fail to find what I'm looking for...
...a total waste of space, as far as I'm concerned.
Bob,
I hasten to add that my horns are the standard "2 horns sounded together" type!
King loud, tho'.

I had some of those on my Mini, they were compulsory fittings on them. I found that lengthening the pipe changed the tone from a high to a lower one,
still loud though.
yours, Pete.
yours, Pete
I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

Don't ask me why, but I went into the garage last night to have a go at this switch - and it worked perfectly...
...time to start pulling wires and connectors, I suppose. 8-(

Nope - the Ipswich Halfords were up (down?) to their usual standard today...
Found what I wanted in a local industrial hydraulics/pipes/etc. warehouse at 84p a metre! Nice to speak to professionals - they ended up with several
reels on the counter, trying to decide whether the example piece I took in was metric or imperial (I couldn't tell the difference looking at the
different items!).
