Liquid filled gauge

I picked up a cheap corner weight gauge from ebay last week. When it arrived the rubber bung in the top of the liquid filled gauge that it uses to measure pressure(0-1000psi) (and hence weight) had come out and most of the liquid had leaked out. The gauge still appears to work, but what do I refill it with ? do I need to refill it ? (jack oil came to mind)

The gauge should work fine without the liquid,
its just to dampen the needle movement

As stated, will still work. Most probably it would have been filled with Glycerene

Cheers
