I’m looking for photos or movies of crashed Sevens
Hi
I’m in the process of putting together information on how to improve passive safety in a Seven/Locost. To do that I need some input from the real
world.
So I’m looking for photos or movies of crashed Sevens. Anything from fender benders to total write-offs is of interest. Any data linked to the photos
would also be much appreciated. Engine, gearbox, model/maker, weight, speed, rear axle, wheel size, etc.
Fell free to e-mail me the photos/movies or post them here on the forum. Any private photos/movies e-mailed to me will be treated as confidential.
I am well aware of the laws of physics, so I understand that a Seven will never be a really safe car. But that doesn’t mean that crash safety can’t be
improved.
I’ll publish info and conclusions on the web later on.
If I can get my hands on a full set of 3D CAD drawings, I’ll try and run some crash simulations in the super computer at work.

You may be opening a nest of worms here.
All you need is some bureaucrat to see pics of wreckage and they will have us fitting roofs and air bags.

Well, I’ve seen photos of crashed cars here before. So there is nothing new really.
Also, fatalities are usually quite rare in amateur built cars.
It would be much easier for bureaucrats to pick on motorcycles etc.

i was worried that the ongoing debacle with the robin hood lightweight might rock the boat a bit uncomfortably with regards to the SVA test in
general. I think we do need to be cautious in general.

Hi take a look at 7 type chassis that have been crash tested for the german market and how well they stood up they arnt that different to the std book
chassis except the book has a few bits of chassis missing. I think that westfield and dax have agents in germany  .
