Great site!!!
I Have a 91 Mercury Cougar, 289 V8, 4 Spped OD Trans, IRS, I would like to transform to Locost.....
I´m willing to document everything, but I need a push in theh right direction....

Wow, that's a big, heavy motor! I'd suggest looking to Jim McSorely for chassis plans (for example, a +4" frame) to get enough room
for it. Are you using an automatic, or a T-5 trans? Your plan will work, but you'll need to make a stronger-than-normal frame. I'd
suggest Mustang II (Pinto) front suspension parts, as they'll handle a car of this size easily. Does that help any?

Thanks, I`ve got the Plans, I`ll be using the automatic that comes with the car, I`d like to use as much as possible from the original donor
undercarriage items.

Does it have a pushrod or OH cam engine. The cammer is REALY big and HEAVY. I'm building something similar but using a 351W. You should be
able to use most of the car though the trans will be a bit wide. The front spindles can be used with a bit of whittling and both ends are easily
changed to 5 on 4.5 bolt pattern to increase the number of wheels that will fit. You might want to poke around on

It has a 5.0 I thought it had the 296 (4.6) but I was wrong.
