I think Locust do something along those lines. Don't know whether it's plans or a kit though

I was going to post this very question last week. My 7 yr old says he wants one. Looking for the 'build your own buggy' by RC. Have cash
waiting.

Kiddy locost
B.W.E. is the locust kit maker now and they do a kit of parts for a model they call the grasshopper.
You can buy as much or as little of the kit you want.
The main body is cut out of MDF and skinned with thin alloy.
If I was doing one I would just buy the full size cutting plans@ 40 pounds and the grp bits @ 140 quid, the rest any one who has built a full size kit
could, I guess ,make
B.W.E. SPORTSCARS,13 Knowsley st,Barnsley, south Yorkshire, S70-6ET.
hOPE THIS HELPS.
Regards Kipper.

I wouldn't even bother buying the plans - weld up a simple ladder frame chassis, make the body out of MDF (we all know the shape of a 7) and
bolt the two together. Stick one of those honda lawnmower motors in the back and jobs done. Old go Kart chassis sell for peanuts on ebay so use one of
them for a donor for the running gear.

I built this for my kids. i works suprisingly well. But the oldest son (6 years) thinks it is bit slow.

I know Micael used a wiper motor for his.
Could one use a starter motor to drive it?
Cheers,
