quick starts

After the successful and very interesting response to my previous “dum” question regarding clutch use, I have another possible dum question – quick starts

What do people do when wanting to go for it really quickly

-- high revs and bang out the clutch
-- take it to the red line in 1st
-- combination of both

It would be interesting to hear about different styles adopted

Personally I feel for the grip around 5-6k revs then let it have it, otherwise its wheelspin all the way. One gear change gets me past the legal speed limit.

For normal road use just like I would in a CEC, low revs n pull away smoothly

My personal preference which seemed to work ok on the drag strip is to dial in 5-7k rpm, then bring the clutch up with your foot as quick as you an (but dont sidestep). Change the revs to suit so that you do break traction (rather than bog down), feather the throttle to gradually regain traction then bang into second at the red line and keep it flat from there.
