SEE HERE

After meeting up with andy today (ash3) to take a look at the mk indy for you please find a list of faults that we noticed

1.the car is not sva'd but thinks its still the donor
2.brake pipes are all in but are tie wrapped to the chassis
3.wiring fitted by a blind man, if it was me i would take it all out and buy a new loom fuses and relays
4.wheels dont fit rear arches correct, i have the same ford 16” cougar wheels that fit fine
5.rear light are trailer lights fitted to the wrong spacing
6.loud cable need replacing and fitting correctly
7.no air filter
8.no nut covers
9.open diff
10.panels need refitting to correct the spacing
11.dash needs radiusing or a new one making
12.one internal panel missing
13.u trim fitting every where. Miles of it
14.chequer plate on the rear none sav able
15.seats not fitted to the cars chassis strips but bolted to the floor with 10mm bolts

on the good side

1.Andy is sure the engine was stripped and rebuilt
2.car is a runner and wouldn't need much time spending on it to get it road worthy
3.no donor car required as all the parts are there and just require correct assembly

we had a quick chat and we think the cars worth £3500 to £4000 max, i'm sure Andy will log on soon and add a few bits that i missed

photos will be in my archive in a few mins under “green indy”

YES I KNOW THE PICS ARE BIG AND I DONT CARE LOL

GraemeMK,

many many thanks for doing what you've done, If you need a favour in the London area let me know, not sure i'd be the right person to advise on a car purchase!, but if you need a part collecting or anything like that let me know.

Sounds as if the cars got potential if nothing else!, shame the engine is one of the good points as I know where a 2.0l zetec with 9,000 miles on the clock is going cheap!

Sounds like it needs a fair amount of time/work but nothing major which is good and things I reckon are well within my limited mechanical capability!

I'll speak to the dealer tomorrow to see what he'll price down to, but unless it's around the £3k mark I doubt it's worth it for me. If he's got it up for £7k thats a big drop, but if he won't then I'm sure when I ring him back in Jan and it's still sitting there........!

Thanks again, and to Andy (ash3) to,

i think it would make a great project, with no messy donor kicking around, just like buying a rolling chassis, call the garage who is selling it on behalf of a customer and offer 3k

i also got to have a ride along with andy in the indyblade he he

Glad to hear it, so if I don't end up buying it then it won't have been a totally wasted trip for you!
