locostparts.net live
hi all
just to let you know that www.locostparts.net is now live to view, the site will be fully functioning by friday evening with all products live showing
immediate stock levels and all prices will be double checked and confirmed, plus exact postage costs for each of the items
as mentioned before no money is taken till goods are packed awaiting for dispatch, each customer will be able to select the part they require and get
exact postage cost and delivery time before comitting to order from us
we should have approx 300 products on line ready to order by the end of next week
with 10 more added each week there after
each month there will be special offers and all customers who are signed up or have already purchased will get news of the special offers first plus
will be notified of all new products added weekly
im sure we will probably suffer with a few teathing problems in the first couple of weeks, so please stick with us as we iron out the creases

all stock levels will be added by friday, we should have everything sat on shelves by then, the stock system works when you add to cart it will then
give the option to preorder the part if not in stock or delete item from your cart
dont know if you need to refresh browser if thats the problem or not or it could be cause i was messing around adding more parts

Will your R1 exhaust manifold kit fit on an R1 that is mounted as per the bike and exit to the side of the engine without interfering with the oil
filter?
If not can you supply one that tucks in tighter to the block?

It would appear that the lower book wishbone plates are free, so can I have a couple?
Can things like the roll bars be made to suit customers chassis if you're given the dimensions? I know it says for book chassis, but how many
are actually book? If this is doable (for a price maybe? ) it could be worth saying so on the site.
Also, are things like the steering racks on an exchange basis or outright?

Looks great Marc.
Can you clarify if your inlet manifold flanges are Stainless or Ali as it is not clear on your site.
Ram Pipes/Air trumpets would be a useful addition to the filters section.

I'm sure you're working on it but pictures of each item would be fantastic. Haven't a clue why but people like to see what they are
buying even though they know what a girling master cylinder looks like.
Is there any particular reason the prices are ex vat. Surely everyone buying from you will be public and therefore you should be advertising inc
vat.
Also, where are you based, the contact details for the workshop are harrogate but the ones on the site are in Warwickshire. (i'm asking as
i'm wondering if i can collect and save on postage in future)
Looks fantastic and i really hope you do well, once again you're going to be a breath of fresh air in the industry and certain sections are
going to have to *really* improve to keep up.

there will be a pic of every part for sale online by end of friday and all prices will be confirmed
the prices are supposed to be inc vat that will be our first hicup then
all the admin / running of the site / server is done in warwick as im not too hot with computers all parts and components are made and stocked in
harrogate

Looking very good.
Some of the pictures on click to see larger are actually smaller than the thumbnail
Here are a couple of suggestions - feel free to ignore
Tools - I find it hard to get reasonable quality specialist tools at sensible prices. I'm thinking of things like brake pipe flarers where
there seem to be two kinds, those that fall to pieces after 10mins and those that cost £100 something in the middle ground (if it exists) would be
useful.
On an more ambitious note, what about kits of parts for tools like folders, tube benders (including cnc lathed formers), notchers etc. David
Jenkins' rivnut tool would be a good example of something useful for those of us without lathes.
On a purely selfish note a 3 outlet SVA brake reservoir would be useful

Maybe, but my understanding of the economics of CNC machines is that once the program is done you just give it material and it churns stuff out very
cheaply. Your design should be pretty simple for a decent machine. Also I expect a proper tool that can handle M8's would be rather
expensive.
On the subject of patents, I've not looked them up, but in my experience they normally relate to the fastener design itself (and the cunning
shape you need to crush up just right). I doubt you could get a patent on something that can be done with a couple of bits of steel strap some
washers and a nut and bolt
Agriv8: yes I saw that, but Marc's prices seem much better (at least comparing the master cylinders/clevis it looks like 50% cheaper!)
