Yup, got one in my BM, but I think it's called Steptronic, rather than Tiptronic.
Wouldn't like to work out the computer side of getting it to work in a kit car though!

well - if its got an electronic valve body , you can build a simple circuit board and flapper wheels to control it .
all the late RWD volvos have an electronic valve body . its not semi automatic really , just controlling the gearbox with a switch .
and yes someone has done it with a volvo , and it was an AW box pretty much the same as a supra/ other toyota automatic .
and , they come with some good ratios , if a little wide .

2006+ MX5 has 6-speed AW tiptronic - there's an Aussie guy using one as a donor.
