Ok lads you can all stop looking now. My Sierra was found on the 1st by somebody looking for out of date road fund!.
Good news its not burnt out. Bad news they replaced my RS turbo 15" alloy's (shod with 5 brand new 205/50X15V's)with 4 cr*p 14" steel rims & only half the nuts. They also nicked all the petrol (surprise surprise), the speakers of the rear shelves, the gear knob, the battery and the viscous cooling fan.
The best of it is that I've got my donor car back, so now is the time for me to start in earnest on the building side and to a degree they wern't very smart cos the battery was 4 years old and on its last legs, and the gear knob had a loose plastic insert that rattled like **** and was very annoying. I've still got the engine, gearbox, ECU, and general running gear with a very good excuse to buy some much better rims for my locost which all being well I will have to start building within the next couple of months.
So thanks to those who looked and watch this space.

PS whoever nicked it was about 5ft 6" and drives a Sierra, living somewhere in the Kettering area.
It was found at the Rockingham Road end of Neale Avenue, Kettering.

Yeah I had thought about that, But rejected it cos Steve turns into a gremlin if he goes out after mid night. cos thats when they dumped it (12:03 when the analog clock stopped when they took the battery off). I know its they cos somebody picked him up and drove him away with the battery (and Steve doesn't have any friends either).

Hippy - im not sure what it takes to be your 'friend' so thats probably a blessing!

That area where the car is dumped is about 8 mins drive away from me. Its very close to where a workmate lives, but he drives an alfa.

If you read the posts recently on here, your car was probably totally ok when dumped. Then someone thought it was great to use as a donor and stripped it - id look for people that are using a sierra donor (there may be some on here.......!) - mines Granada V6 based

There is a boy racer white escort dumped in billing right now - as you drive past the open bonnet you can see the blue hoses and chrome bits - It did make me think of your car tho.....

My wifes car was brokne into in akettering car park a few years back. all they stole was the 20 quid speakers from the parcel shelf. Wife couldnt understand why the radio didnt work until I 'diagnosed' the problem once I got home! The kids had tried to ask here earlier what the big holes were for, but she told them to keep quiet whilst she struggled with the radio.

Chris - I'm 5 ft 9 ins - which is taller than I am wide......

Was about to ask why in god's name would they want a viscous fan but I guess your comment about it being someone who drives a Sierra explains that!

Assuming it wasn't insured is there any way you can claim on your household insurance for the wheels/tyres? Might get something toward buying new ones?

Just a thought...

Cheers,

James

Legal bit ---- Without predjudice.
James, car was/is insured but only 3pf&t, also I was trying to build some NCD as the other car we have is full NCD & in wifes name. With an excess of £100 it makes it a bit silly to claim & loose 2yrs NCD as the wheels & tyres can be replaced for £100. Tyres I tend regard as service items so although they cost me £150 (trade price with a lot of change) I find it very annoying but, hell thats life. A few months ago I put two new ones on the front & 2 days later drove though an area where a builder had dropped some stuff off his van, result - half a dozen 6" nails through new front tyres. Sh*t Happens.
As I said the good thing is I've got my donor back.

And just in case they browse the internet I have got a few leads at this time and I have a blender waiting ready for when I get the tangible proof. -- Allegedly

Revenge is a dessert, best served cold.

Enjoy.

That's why I said household insurance. Only suggested it as people I know have claimed all sorts on that and I don't think there is a NCD system to lose on house insurance is there? Not sure tho- maybe there is!
