anyone know what this is? someone on the peugeot 306 gti6 owners site took a pic of it at "the harewood hillclimb" .

to me it looks like a sylva riot but with a peugeot TU engine in the front.

has anyone got any views?

From the front suspension, I believe it's a Mk III Striker - these weren't made for long.

This car has a live axle with inboard shocks with top rocker arm which means it's the original Mk2 design. The Mk3 had the locost style outboard shocks. Not many of them around.

Possibly we're more interested the mechanics of converting the Pug TU motor into RWD configuration?

I have regularly parked next to it whilst competing. Apparently it revs to 10,000 RPM

perenial question that one, with no simple answer. Although generally asked of the Pug XU engines as found in GTIs and Mi16s.

Rumour has it there was a company making conversion bell housings, but no longer in business. Also roumoured to be possible using a LDV (Rover) gearbox but possible problems with unsuitable ratios. There are pictures on t'internet of a 7 type car running an Mi16 engine, but in left hand drive form.

When I spent a lot of time looking into it I reached the conclusion that it was easier to use a Ford or VX XE engine.

What do you have in mind BTW?
