type 9 box to zetec lack top
right here goes see if you can all get your head round this one for me i got a 2lt black top 1999
iam fitting a type 9 box and ive got my hands on one for £60
1,is that a good price
2,do i need to look out for any thing on the box
3,what clutch will i need to match these two items together
4,is there different types of type 9 what one do i need

can help you with
1. a bit on the expensive side tbh - £30 for one with an unknown history is about right.
2. You can: check for general condition, take the top cover off and check for obvious damage to the gears and the colour and condition of the oil but
otherwise really you pay your money and take your chances...... Until you try it in a car it's really hard to tell how good it is unless you
build them for a living.....which is why £30 is better than £60 . They are pretty tough though so you should be ok unless you're realy

This is a wacky world we live in....
I just sold my old type 9 for £420 but the replacement cost £50!!
PS OK the first one had a forged 4.44:1 crown and pinion!

yer i can see what your saying about the price if i got one from the breaker up the road he wanted £40.00 and on the other side of town there is a man
that has a rally shop and he sales them to the mk2 escort boys he has had a look over this box and said as its a good one £60 but does it matter what
type and what clutch will i need thanks all
