Mirrors look a little low. Let me know if they pass OK.

Nice looking car that!

You might get pulled up on the seat belts routed through the seats - because the holes become the highest point the examiner might want evidence that the seats are strong enough to take the downward force in the event of a crash.

I had to route the belts around the sides of the seats to keep the seats out of the discusson.

I wonder if the screen will pass the edge radius test?

Good luck

Mark

Edit: I also wondered if the front mudguards come forward enough. they should extend forwards to a vertical line at the front of the wheel rim.

The seats and where the belts go through do look quite high, are they on runners?

If they are you'll probably need to bolt them straight to the floor to pass the seatbelt angle test. (if you can make any sence of it there's the section of the SVA manual regarding this in my photo archive)

Good luck, with a good looking car

All the best with the test.
Have to agree with the seat height comment but just go for it,
Very nice looking car.

I have got a cover for the aluminium part of the steering wheel. Do you think that is the problem area??

mango and my dad wasted an hour going to a scrappy to get a wheel that made it almost impossible to get in and out of the car but it passed!

I think your right MacBeast. I'm going to have to go out to the garage and try and put things right.

Mine passed at Mitcham with a Mountney s/wheel, but it did have the SVA pad on the centre.

Cobra seats have an internal metal frame that supports the harness holes, so in theory should pass, better safe than sorry though.

Good luck for the morning.

Best of luck, but two things are obvious failures if you went to Nottingham SVA

The front edge of the front mudguards have to be in front of the wheel rims

If you've got some u-shaped edging trim, put it on the stearing whell spokes and get the biggest hardest pice of foam you can find and use duct tape to fasten it to the steering wheel boss to form a crash pad. Then a Mountney steering wheel should pass. Mine certainly did at Nottingham

Having said that if the mudguards are the only thing the tester finds in my experience, the tester will probably still give the beloved MAC1 ticket

Yippee it passed.

I had to make a couple of changes on site to get it through, adjust emissions, put some trim around the head light mounts, move a fuse holder under the dash and move the front mud guards forward a bit by bending the frame work.

Had a tester that was firm but very fair

Thanks guys

Rob
