Croft trackday

Myself and son, Pete were at Croft on Sunday. The weather gods were kind to us, as other than the first session (damp) it remained dry throughout the day. Bit coooooool late afternoon, but hey, it's March, and it's Croft!

Some pics:

My car, with a megablade behind ..

Pete's car behind an S2000 powered beast..

And some others..

R1, followed by Busa

Me behind a Zetec powered car

Pete behind, I think, a 1.6 VX car

And a couple of vids

Me, among the caterhams.

and

Pete, trailing the flaming S2000

Enjoy..

Looks like a cracking day out there.

'tis a pity I missed it, but there is no way I could get past their noise test with my current set up.

Currently investing in a quieter can and new airbox!

Yes, unfortunately you do need to be fairly well silenced nowadays at Croft. Well worth the effort, as it's not only Croft that's tightening up on noise.

Incidentally, there were a couple of (I think) black MKs parked up at one point through the day, anyone on here?

Yes, that was us.

My girlfiend had a passenger ride out in the white 211 and loved it.

I know the guy with the black one and had a spin down the road, what a machine.

They are both racing them this year....

There was a pattern throughout the day, Let yellow caterham past while warming up tyres, then catch and pass caterham. To be fair, they were low powered cats, on whatever their race series (road) tyres are. CR500s?
Pete has a Dunnel Zetec, 220bhp, but on the day the rev counter packed in, so he was being conservative with the 8000 available revs. Blue S2000 is 240bhp. When the owner had it mapped at Dave Walker's I think, he was asked, do you want flames? well, it was rude to decline!

Edited

That's not her that must have been his wife..
Julz went out in the last session and afterwards she had a big grin on her face that said it all...

I rang up earlier in the week to try and get on myself but there were already 8 reserves by then..

I think it will be a case of booking well in advance this year trackdays are obviously becoming more and more popular each year...

There's another this Sunday, one of Croft's own, if you're interested. Looks like there's still places.. (I'm not doing it)

I was there as well black R1 Striker with cage, as was my mate with black Toyota Striker. The Quattro is owned by a garage owner friend. The wires were showing on the edge of his tyres at the end of the day! He has another sprint Quattro which is unbelievably fast.

I was told the Porsche GT3 RS was turned away on noise, he had travelled from Northampton!

Any pics of the Westys appreciated.
I've got higher res photos (the ones I've posted in this thread are cropped from bigger pics) from the intermediate and expert groups only, free on request. Only using a wee Fuji, so nothing exeptional, but free!

Andy,

Yes that's us above. If you have any other pics I wopuld be grateful of them. fishywick@tiscali.co.uk

The Quattro has about 270bhp but as I said above he has a Sport hillclimb car which, no exaggeration, has nearly 800bhp.
