Ron Champion Book!
Does anyone have for sale a ron champion book, or know where I can get one other than amazon?
It hardly seems resonable to pay £125 for a book tiltled build a sports car for £250!

Use the third edition (the one that's sierra based) as its miles better.
Fame is when your old car is plastered all over the internet

As whippy says. The new haynes roadster is better as it uses a sierra donor and irs

If you're building from scratch the new book is better. If you're building a kit based upon the old Locost design the Champion book is
blooming useless. It gives loads of info (some incorrect) about building the chassis etc and then the last chapter basically says "then put it
all together to make a car" without any specifics!!! I used to occasionally read it for motivation but above and beyond that I never used it
during my build....

I really like the Ron Champion book, but it is full of errors and more a source of inspiration than a real in depth guide to builing the car. The
Chris Gibbs book is much better (and cheaper) and more suitable to the available gear. You can get the old chassis plans off the net if you really
have to and this site contains vastly more info than the book. There really is no reason to spend £125 on the book.

A log ot libarays have the Ron Champion book. And its a good read.
- To read, i actually prefer it to the gibb book.
However as people have said, as a build guide, Gibb's book is proberbly more relievent and possably better put together.
And as you say, the cost of Rons book has gone through the roof!
- Hence i would just borrow one to read. Then maybe buy the Gibb book. Else just borrow that too.

I already have the Chris Gibbs book, however I am planning to enter the 750mc race class and I think you need to build that chassis to the original
design with a live axle.
Do you race? If so would you mind pointing me in the right direction?

Seems like they appear on eBay fairly frequently.
One for sale now for £99 but others have gone recently for only £10 and I can't see anyone who has paid anywhere close to £100 for one.
