The new project has landed...with pics
Saw this on a classifieds site one evening and instantly regretted looking at the photos...
Its such a nice looking car with some interesting features...
Was rebuilt 15 years ago with a full body off repair....and painted red....Now it has been returned back to its original blue color...
Was stripped cosmetically for a respray.....resprayed and then the company went bust, so the car has sat for 5 years gathering dust...
After an eventful trip home with it on the trailer (it has swiveling casters on the back...it didnt want to stay put on the trailer) Its finaly in the
garage..
Trying to decide what to do with it..
A lot of the bits are in boxes in various states of disrepair....Looks like there are several bits missing as well including...
Roof window/cloth thing
Door cards
Door glass
Door window frames
Internal handles....
Oh...and the added bonus...Just discovered it was first registered on the 1st July 1972....So its TAX EXEMPT!!!!....Happy days!
...
The plan now.....clean it up, paint the rusty bits...re-wire and possibly retrim inside...and then reasemble with lots of new shiny bits....oh, and
then go create some Co2 the best way I know how!!

It would be nice to take a restored shell of that vintage and stick in a modern engine and running gear - and without sounding like the biggest Chav
here, I'm talking soem sort of Fast Furious 3 Jap conversion!
Teg, did you sell that track car project?

I did indeed sell the track project. Not bad return for 6 months work!
To be fair the chassis design doesnt look too bad....Might need some decent bushes in there, but all things considered....
Stick some bigger brakes on it and a nice modern engine and transmission with an LSD in the diff and it would be a really nice car!
Dont think I have the money for that kinda thing though...not at the moment anway...im sure it will be good fun in standard guise for now

Shocking (A month ago I wouldnt have known what it was either lol!)
Its a TVR 2500M.
The M series (all with the same body shell) was available with a 1.6L 4 pot, a 2.5L straight 6 and a 3L v6...
Based pretty much on the triumph TR6 rear suspension/engine and tranny...
Most of the other bits are from th MG/triumph parts bin as well

Would a Duratec V6 from a mondeo fit? Would be a cheap(ish) way to get a decent engine in there.
200bhp with little or no tuning would be about the max for the suspension/diff as is I think.

Teg, I'd leave the engine as is - it's period for the car and those Triumph sixes are silky smooth with a great exhaust note, plus
they'll take a good amount of tuning without breaking the bankand being low tech are easy to run and maintain.
Should be a really nice motor given a bit of tlc.
Cheers, Pewe.

Its ok, I dont plan on changing the engine soon..
It does look a lot like the Datsun doesnt it...I wonder which came first...
Although I am reallly struggling to find the door windows and frames Dont think plastic sheet and duct tape would do the job!

The front always reminds me of 240Z and the back Jensen. They catered for everybody didn't they
yours, Pete
I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

Tegwin
have you come across this forum TVR M-Fix
if its not too nosey, what did you pay?
only asking as there is one a couple of streets away from me that I enquired about 3 weeks ago, been stood for at least 10 years that I can remember
so will need a full resto if the owner will let it go.
if not I'l have to badger my ex neighbour for the mk1 escort 2 door with only 47k miles clogging his drive again.

I thought it was a triumph GT6 at first.
On another note in a recent PPC there was a triumph spitfire with the engine out of a Nissan 200SX in it, about 200bhp turbo fun with scope for a lot
more power.
