Enjoy it , although it's a bit wierd sitting in a chair 2 feet from the car when its full throttle.

I'm just hoping that nothing goes wrong with it, as it's all fairly experimental.
Does anyone know how long a full mapping session will last/take?
I'll be taking camera and try and get some vid if all goes well.

Dave mapped mine in a couple of hours although mine is a bit more conventional and I had managed to get it running reasonably well . The only problem
I had was the T/Bs working off of the manifold but Dave soon cured that with a big cable tie. I found it to be an interesting experience . When are
you going up as the A11 can be a bit of a nightmare from Barton Mills where it becomes single carraigeway ? Might be worth going via Brandon towards
Fakenham as the road is normally less busy keep an eye out for the Weeting turning on your right .

Got to be there by 10 (as you know, I guess) and with 120 miles to do in a van with trailer, will try and leave home by 6 - 6.30.
I'd rather get there very early. Still got more jobs to do

294bhp and yes they will cope (on a rolling road at least), though if they twist I'll expect we'll see pictures in PPC.

I would not let them run it in 5th, that little overdrive gear may explode! I think 4th on a LT77 is straight through.

Er, not quite as planned
Got to Emerald with 25 minutes to spare, so that was ok. Unloaded car from trailer and got it onto the rollers, strapped down and wired up.
First off, no water temp signal which fortunately I found first time being a dodgy sender connector.
Then we got to the subject of fuel pressure reg and me mentioning that it was in the boot, and him mentioning what a dumb idea that was
Anyway, the short of it is, it's been mapped to a point and best guessed beyond that and can be driven, but I need to investigate air leaks as
he couldn't get tickover below about 1400rpm, we think the turbos were smoking when engine got to about 3500rpm (either that or it was spinning
the wheels with two of us sitting on the boot).
So, I'm going to finish getting the cosmetic jobs, front roll bar in and painted etc etc and carry out Dave's recommendations while
driving it around.
I have a Turbosmart which he'd never heard.
I wanted to run engine last night, but couldn't get it started, so we had the exhaust wrap smoking away for a couple of minutes (which Dave
photographed - for his amusement I suspect), then 10 mins after that, it blew a hot water hose off..............
Anyway, it should be ok for me to drive there next time.

Another day then, long way to go. bummer.
If you datalog the emerald you could match the syntax of megasquirt with your wideband kit you should be able to map it yourself to a pretty good
standard. At least get a bit more security before you pop off up north again.
Could have been a lot worse, a friend took his 4x4 special all the way to Wales for a mapping session, they burnt a hole in a piston and sent him
home..
