Road tax on kit cars with late donors?

If I build a car based on a '52 plate 2ltr donor, what will the road tax situation be? I suppose the donor would have a tax band based on emmissions, but the kit would be a good deal lighter and therefore emit less.

Anyone know, or have a link?

John

Same as all other kit cars isnt it - based on the pre-2001 rules so the donor's emmissions dont come into it.

The emissions you get are then written onto the V5 as a note.
Its based on the engine you have installed at the time of the SVA.

So how about SVA'ing with a early engine that is not emission tested (age wise).
Then fit your desired engine afterward.

Just a thought!
