It's booked!!!
A date for your diaries people, Friday 28th March.
We're back at Blyton for another great day!!
It's the same as before, £100 per car, no extra for passengers, or extra drivers.
There will be a few more places this time, as I don't think there were any traffic issues last time, so another 4-5 cars won't hurt.
Any left over money from the day, I'm going to donate to a charity, no body is earning out if this (well I'm not anyway).
Nick from Xtreme photography has said he will come again to take pictures of the day.
I'm also going to try and arrange a few other things for the day.
Maybe a bit of a raffle, and that sort of thing, to try and make more of the day.
Anyway, as usual, I need a £40 non-refundable deposit*, to confirm your place, with the balance of £60 to be paid before 14th February.
You can contact me at; frank-hall@hotmail.co.uk
I will add more details as things are confirmed.
Cheers Frank.
(* if you back out, the deposit will be donated to charity.)
I'm in.
Deposit sent.
Cheers Dan!!
That was quick!!
I can't wait to see your blue flamethrower on track again!!
Only a spectator , but amazingly coincides with a rest day - date noted

Stick me down for one definite (me) and one possible (Mark Jackson). I'll do both monies again (and maybe won't need chasing down for it
this time...)
Steve

Mentioned it to Phil G today and he's likely to be up for it too
Deposit sent for me (Steve Bunter) and Mark Jackson (old lotus 7 with blade engine from last day)
Its 3 hour drive each way for me. Do you have any plans or advice on accommodation?

levels).
Cheers Frank.

thanks again for all the hard work and the donations to the charity! just hope you have better luck with your car this time
Money received.
As far as I know, the camping is the same as last time, £10 per pitch and the gates close at 8pm.
I'll have a word with Richard, and see if it's possible to leave the gates until 9pm, but I can't promise anything.

I'll probably do a few rounds of the Nationals myself this year. However, I'm way down on talent with RC compared to you Sir.
Can I still get on this?
there will be loads of spaces left mate i'd imagine. it wont book up until a few weeks before the event i think
Hi,
At the minute there's 18 places booked, so there's 17-22 places left.
EDIT: I've call round at Blyton today, they've laid an extra mile of Tarmac!! It's looking good
Cheers Frank.
[Edited on 11/12/13 by fha772]
where have they extended the circuit frank? id assume out near the start finish straight/first corner?
It seems to be longer at the other end of the track and there's another piece across the centre, that's all I could see, there was a team
testing there, and I wasn't allowed up on the banking to see better.
Richard said that he's having some new arial pictures of it in the next week or so.

All the additional tarmac is on the infield, hard to explain the route it takes, wasent in use last weekend.
I had a go on an infield bit earlier this year.. I'd seen a version of it on youtube and thought it looked a bit mickey mouse, but I was
pleasantly surprised.. it's actually OK. If you get a clear run through all of the esses section it's superb, but that's where the main
problem lies I suppose, it's a lengthy peice of circuit to find a clear shot at it.
Vid from the day here, the last few minutes chasing the red Westy was a good couple of clear ones.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7WMFj3BD01w
Be interested to know if there's more track been laid.
There's more now at the opposite end, was only laid two weeks ago.

Whats the format? Open pit? how many participants?
Open pit, last time we had 35 cars there, this time I'm planning 40 because there was no problems with waiting to get on track last time. Plus it means it'll raise a bit more money for charity.

barry. try to contact frank. the original post. he may be able to get you a place or put you on the list as a reserve. you need a full face
helmet, long sleeved top and pants so no exposed skin, and harnesses. apart from that youll get noise tested at most events (but the ppc blyton wont
bother unless someone is crazy loud on a driveby) there will be no static test.
its friendly, non competative and a great venue!
A little reminder...
To everyone who has paid their deposits, please remember I need the balance by the end of this next week please.
I will be starting another thread about camping, if anyone wants to camp the night before, it's £10 per pitch payable on the night, and the gates
are locked at 8pm.
Cheers Frank.
8pm ! oh dear, ill need to get a move on to avoid last years situation. just sleep at the gates,or scale the fences
Payment sent, Frank.
Got it, cheers.

Yeah that's fine, you're welcome to come the night before, it's £10 to camp.
You can give me that on the night.

I'll be talking to Richard this week, I was thinking, if we can, we could do half a day on the old, and half on the new layout, I thought it'd make the day more fun.

[Edited on 7/3/14 by daniel mason]

Hoping to get to Blyton Thursday around 6 or 7pm with Dan, Eddie & the girls. I'm hoping to have time to load the cast iron chimney and some
"dry" wood as the hill billy's smoked us out last time and I think that's why I was not feeling to well the following day.
Looking forward to meeting up again as I've run out of chalk and hoping Owelly will bring me some more.
Would like a proper passenger lap with some of the fast bike engined cars as Olly's made me realise how very wrong I'm getting it at
Cadwell.
Frank, would I be able to cadge a hookup cable if I don't get one in time just in case it's cold.
[Edited on 25/3/14 by unijacko67]

unijacko67 - 27/3/14 at 12:42 AMWell I may well be just a passenger as my front stub axle is bent. It's so bad as to depending where I nip it up tight in the alloy upright the disc moves up to 5mm in between the calliper throat. My smaller disc always displayed a small amount of deviation on that hub and the larger ones are exaggerating the problem. That explains why my tracking has altered every time I've re built the front end. The only problem I will have is the disc slapping the pads back in and a crap pedal. On a very positive note I now know what the problem is. Still going to make up the numbers and will ring around tomorrow to see if I can get a fresh one. There must be something else not true also like the hub face to disc face, but running out of time to see what's wrong.
The joy's of a self build eh!!!!!!!!
Nickp - 27/3/14 at 05:20 AMIs it a std Kitten one? Have you asked Froggy or Oddified?
yellowcab - 27/3/14 at 07:19 AMSorry to hear about the revelations Andrew, but like you say, at least you know now!
Hope you get sorted today!!
unijacko67 - 27/3/14 at 07:59 AMNo not std kitten, gp4 escort type, No worries, I have a plan.

Good man
Do Rally Design do them?
Oddified - 27/3/14 at 08:51 AMIt won't be the stub axle, if that was bent it would still run true but at an angle. If the disc has 5mm run out then it has to be either the hub/faces/bells/disc. Refit the normal disc's just to test it...
Ian
owelly - 27/3/14 at 09:06 AMWe can come via Yukspeed. He has loads of good bits for Escorts. Or Yorkshire Rally Spares in Malton.
