Is it possible to register a car without an engine number? If so do the DVLA assign an engine number and how do you go about it?

Cheers in advance

jeep chrysler and dodge do

Very much doubt it.

They'll want engine number for the records. How come your engine doesn't have a number?

Cheers,
James

Hot property???? Is the metal where the engine number should be suprisingly shiny and polished????

No its totally legit (I couldnt get away with that sort of thing). Its a crossflow that has been totally overhauled and the block has been skimmed, unfortunately losing the number in the process.

did they skim the side of the block too?

Xflow only has the engine number on the top of the block IIRC. Casting number is on the side but is not the same as engine number.
