are fiesta caliper carriers the same as sierra carrier calipers ??
I don't think so - but which sierra and which fiesta ?
well i need some sierra caliper carriers for single pot 60mm sierra calipers (the standard sierra caliper from xr4x4 2.9 dohc etc from 90's) and
they're like rocking horse poo but there are listings on ebay of fiesta ones such as this which suggest they are the same..
FORD FIESTA MK1/2/ SIERRA MK1/2/3? BRAKE CALIPER GENUINE FORD
wondered if they ARE the same
Well that listing is just BS
Mk1/2 fiesta calipers I've had are nothing like that and there is no such thing as a mk3 sierra.....
The 60mm piston calipers for the 260mm discs are on the XR4x4 as you say but that includes the V6 and SOHC versions too, also the XR4i, any normal
sierra with ABS and any non-cossie with 4x4
They are also the same as the mk3 Granada ones (not cossie) and one version of the RS turbo escort
And I've got a 60mm slightly crusty pair of calipers with carriers going spare, but I wont be able to get them out for a while I'm
afraid....

thanks for the detailed reply.
to be absolutely precise... what i want is caliper carriers that have the same slider pin spacing as those on the 60mm sierra calipers.
I'm fitting 300mm focus discs to xr4x4 hubs and will need to make extension brackets for the carrier to hub. this means that, whilst the carriers
must have the same spacing for the slider pins that the sierra 60mm caliper uses, they need not have have the same hole spacing for the hub mount
bolts.
does that make my choices any easier?
As far as i know the carriers only fit the one type of caliper and you may need to modify them a little to fit the bigger disc even then
Dax did a similar with the smaller 54mm calipers over the 278mm cossie 4x4 discs
Would it be easier to fit the focus st170 calipers instead ? That way the pads would cover the full are of the disc too

There is one single pot caliper that's bigger than the xr4x4 one - the one that was used on the cossie 4x4's with 278mm discs
Or there is the 2wd cossie 4pot one, but they are heavy...
