For sale R1 turbo locost
cossiebri - 13/2/11 at 10:23 PM

After lot's of mulling over, thinking, talking with the wife, And thanks to flak monkey-looking at that sv650- i think it's time to put the car up for sale
I wan't a few more toy's but can't really afford to have them all so something got to go
Right it's a 4xv R1 with j e low comp pistons, carillo rods, Think it's running a set of custom cams as well, fuelling is by suzuki gsxr1000 (k1 ? i think) throttle bodies running with a kms ecu that also takes care of the ign, closed loop lamda, dash display, boost controller (the ecu set up cost over £1500 alone) When i bought the engine it was using pectal (read ford cosworth set up) but talking to the engine builder (ashford motorsport) when the engine was being dyno'ed it didn't seem to like the single throttle body- causing surging so was told this is the better route, the turbo is a switzer (?sp)
it has a custom pace intercooler, swirl pot, injection pump, carbon micron(large oval) race can, all boost hoses are blue silicone, alloy dump valve All of this was bought brand new
also new on the car is a lightweight floor mounted pedalbox from apb on here, trigger handbrake, golf 1.4 rad (same as the polo one but the core is twice as thick) vapor dash, boost gauge
the car has carbon mods front cycle wings, carbon wing protectors, carbon f1 mirrors, light weight fibreglass seats with foam padding, sabelt black harnesses, wilwood 4 piston front calipers, running on 6 x13 5 spoke alloys with r888 (have seen better days but loads of tread still)
the bad news is the car could do with a tidy esp the wiring, It NEEDS to be mapped either on a rolling road or engine out and dyno'ed(this was the route i was taking. ashford motorsport has a dyno room-they built the engine and supplied the ecu etc so know it very well) I think it could do with a custom fuel rail as was never happy with whats on there (was going to get one from flak monkey) The car does run-hasn't been started since last august but obviously will be run for the buyer, the tickover is almost spot on just needs the rest of the map sorting (it's running on a blackbird turbo map at the moment just to get it running) Should be running around 260-280 hp at around 8-10 psi can run over 20 psi if you want

Looking for £4250 (spent more than that on the engine conversion alone!!)

Booooo

I remember it when it had a xflow.

Did you mention it's a road registered car ?

Hope the new owner stays in touch, whoever it ends up with.

I was owner two, you'll be owner five, I think.

Who's up next ?

Ooh, sounds cheap! Send it to me and I'll map it and get it IVA'd. Got to be worth more if finished! If I had the money spare at the moment I'd be interested myself!

If it's road legal it's gotta be too cheap!

Bargain... i bet it will be snapped up quick!

Dangle_kt - 13/2/11 at 11:51 PM

That is CRAZY cheap!

tony-devon - 14/2/11 at 08:12 AM

think your ripping yourself off mate

I have seen cars nowhere near as well specced as that fetch more money

and its on a Q plate.

way too cheap, although not cheap enough for me to afford it LOL

maybe its not the right approach, but personally I would be removing the VIN etc, sell as a track car or project, will still make that money, then keep V5 etc for another project, or maybe sell on.?

This is illegal.

tony-devon - 14/2/11 at 09:58 AM

yeah and LOL

of course your correct it is illegal, but it happens, many times you see a kitcar for sale, obviously been on the road, but without plates and paperwork.

I wasnt saying thats what he should do, or advocating it, but merely mentioning that it was an option.

seeing as he appears to be giving the car away almost, at that price.

Could also have it delivered if needed for a small charge

JoelP - 14/2/11 at 08:15 PM

Looks a bit nicer than when i sold you it!

Suspect you could charge loads more if you got it running right.

cossiebri - 15/2/11 at 08:44 PM

Cheers joelp, had a lot of fun with it should never have taken the old engine out UNTIL i had everything for the new one- only been off the road 3 years !! let that be a lesson (or not)

Look's like the car is sold
