Zetec plenum and manifold
Chaz - 23/7/12 at 10:50 AM

I need a zetec plenum and manifold for my 1.8 silver top which I'm currently supercharging.

I thought I could use my Bogg bros (bike manifold) but i don't think it's going to align with any injector rails on the market

Any advice with combinations of zetec manifold/injector rails will be greatly recieved.

Thanks in advance

P.S - the cheaper the better, I'm on a budget right now! And we are on locost builders!

Happy considering the DIY approach.

whats the issue with fuel rail? as link below some can help on here with making a specific fuel rail to suit your spacing

fuel rail blanks link

The bike manifold I have brings all the inlet pipes closer together. Too close for 'standard' fuel rails to fit

what about the bike's std. fuel rail ?

Whats wrong with the std plastic manifold ? Omex used it with their supercharger i believe.

Plastic? Which one do you mean? Are you referring to the duratec inlet manifold?

I assume he's thinking of the blacktop zetec E manifold found in the focus's etc....

the ST170 manifolds (also plastic) could be made to fit bike TB's if I remember right.... (not sure if they'd fit a silver top though ? )

Oh ok, I don't think the inlet to silver top and black tops are the same.

Use a stock ST170 manifold, respace your bike TBs to suit (I assume you have these?) and then a Nissan GTi-R Pulsar plenum (£45 from breakers). Get Flackmonkey to make you a tb to plenum adaptor plate and you should be sorted.

Good idea but I've sold the bike carbs. I'm trying to go for an all in one manifold and plenum with a single throttle body.

Well the Omex one might use plastic intake but it has a Jenvey plenum which is over £500.

The cheapest way would be ST170, GSX Throttle Bodies, GTiR plenum and then what ever supercharger you can get on it. Look at flakmonkey Duratec supercharge built. Ultimately this will not be cheap...And I wouldn't bother doing it to a 1.8. Better off getting a 2.0 Blacktop and throw some cams in it. It will make 190ish which is about the same as you will get with a 1.8 homebrewed supercharged and it will cost you a hell of lot less to do (overall).

Oh ok, some sound advice! Thank for the big picture stuff, that's a helpful counter option.
