Looks like a thick wire that goes down to the gun has come off, where's it meant to go to?

I really ought to think about getting a cheapy stick welder methinks, this one has well outlived its reasonable lifespan given the abuse its experienced.

Dragging the knackered mig around is getting rather old, and it's never been much good.
