The Bush's vendetta against Iraq affected everyone in this country too, for the worse

Last thing everyone needed was another gray haired dinosaur in charge

As said above America has the most influence of any country and like it or not what they do is important to us

Was so hoping that Bush would be assassinated that really would have made my day, I'd have had a party or something

02GF74 - 5/11/08 at 09:48 AM

^^^ maybe so but do I have any influence over any of those events? None at all, well unless I buy a gun and pop off Bush which is not likely to happen.

D Beddows - 5/11/08 at 09:51 AM

Aside from the politics of it all, I'm having a sh*t time at the moment but the thought of all the rednecks waking up to the fact their country is now governed by a black man has made me smile this morning

I would imagine though that the security operation around him will have to be IMMENSE sadly

This ^ McCain just wanted more war. The very fact that McCain sang "Bomb bomb bomb, bomb bomb Iran" to the tune of Baraba Anne by the Beachboys shows he's not fit to be president. He's a moran, he's not president. Good.

whereas McCain "knows where Bin Laden is and he's going to get him".

What a load of BS.

Talk about broken promises...

Yeh, he knows exactly where he is, someone on the map here:

...and that utterly loopy 'pro-life unless you happen to be a bear, in which case where's my rifle' woman standing behind him shouting 'BANG' a lot so she can run the world when he inevitably has a cardiac. The world has enough problems as it is, having an unhinged christian fundamentalist in charge of nuclear weapons doesn not make for a bright future

Can you tell i'm quite relieved Obama won?

Hellfire - 5/11/08 at 09:57 PM

Personally I've been sick to death of the whole presidential election thing for the last few months, to the point where I avoid watching or reading the news. It's been flogged to death. I can't understand why any British person is even remotely interested, apart from those who have family or other ties in America.

Oh ya know - just the future of the planet and stuff

Glad sanity has prevailed - good on them. I echo Martyn's sentiments wholeheartedly. Every time Palin/McCain opened their mouths I feared for the world!

I just hope Obama is as awesome as President Palmer was

Wasn't too scared about McCain though policy wise he would have been Bush-lite.

But Palin, shudder, even Fox news are reporting she's got the same intellectual credentials and work ethic as Jade Goody

There's another vid floating about of a different guy behind the desk chatting to the same reporter about this. At one point the guy behind the desk starts saying something along the lines of 'but she could have been tutored about geography and how the govt is organised and works so what's the deal let's move on'

A five year old could be tutored, and would probably be expected to have a better grasp of those subjects than it's claimed Palin does. If you're just starting a job at McDonalds then fair enough you could learn as you go along, but vice-president? And they made a big deal out of Obama being inexperienced...
