Had mine for a while now. It's a right noisy bugger on standby! Whirring away like a little plasticy whirry thing!

Does anyone else have this problem?

Yep mine ran out of warrenty a while back and it has needed several resets and did make a lot of noise, I hoovered the casing and now it's quite quiet again.

How do you reset? Is it something I can do, or is it a specialist job?

Our used to do that - apparently it's something to do with it downloading anytime TV programs. We've had it a few months now and it's quiet all the time now.

Have a few complaints about it though.

Can't record 2 HD channels at once though.
Can't watch a HD recording when it's also recording 2 channels (HD or normal)
Fast forward and rewind is very jumpy and deosnt always stop where you want it to (i have seen it jump a whole hour!).

Our old Sky+ box was much better.

you need to format the box once in a while to make it run silently. Cable pvrs get the same problem
