10 years of pestering................
Jon Ison - 17/11/08 at 09:21 PM

I know some don't approve of personalised registrations but after pestering the DVLA on and off for at least 10 years I finally have on retention.....

JON 150N

And the best bit, isonblade is on age related N prefix.

Just need to complete engine install now.

Well happy n feeling a tad chuffed...

blakep82 - 17/11/08 at 09:24 PM

ooh good work! i could have had B14KEP for £500 a few years back would have been good too

scootz - 17/11/08 at 09:25 PM

Nice one... did you get it at a reasonable price?

Jon Ison - 17/11/08 at 09:27 PM

yea, "JON" with 3 random numbers and a letter ain't worth a lot in the scheme of things, just had to be the correct three random numbers and letter for me.

Now JON 7 for example would be a tad expensive.

Ben_Copeland - 17/11/08 at 09:28 PM

Probably not at the prices they seem to be charging recently!!!

nick205 - 17/11/08 at 09:31 PM

Possible, its gonna look like a pi55 take for sure, I'm lucky I can just put the plates on correctly spaced etc and it will do just the job I want it to.

Mrs want to put it on tin top but then its hassle maybe every three years the isonblade is going no where plus we already have J 15ON K on there n her name start?s with a J so she can lump it, wot u fink

coozer - 17/11/08 at 10:21 PM

Saw this on the back off a Yamaha on M1

R10 HMY

Spaced out with a !

R1 0H MY

ReMan - 17/11/08 at 10:25 PM

Nice one, I'm a fan of them.
Though my Mrs is ever so slightly peeved still after being pulled and made to feel like public enemy number 1 a few weeks ago to have it pointed out that her plate was ever so slightly mis-spaced

wrigglypig - 17/11/08 at 11:15 PM

Well done Jon I was once overtaken at high speed by a Porsche on the A1 and the number plate read ADD105S smart arse!

blakep82 - 17/11/08 at 11:53 PM

saw a jag years ago with
SHE 15 6Y

the jag was old and past it, and his Mrs was rotten lol

locogeoff - 17/11/08 at 11:56 PM

Am I being stupid as I cant see the problem with

JON 150N

Make the 5 into an S with a dodgy font then you're up for a pull, but that's just a std plate and the natural spacing of an age related plate fits your requirement.

Simon - 18/11/08 at 12:58 AM

I was after S1MON about 1998, but it went for about £100k, slightly out of range!

ATB

Simon

liam.mccaffrey - 18/11/08 at 03:35 AM

L14 MMC

went for 150 quid back in 93, i might hunt him down one day. I have a pretty good start on his name

locoR1 - 18/11/08 at 08:26 AM

Well done Jon you got it eventually then! That is going to look sweet on the isonblade

I'm not jealous much, Maybe if im really lucky the wife will return the complement this Christmas! The look on here face when she opened here present last year was priceless

tomblyth - 18/11/08 at 08:50 AM

so who do you hassle at the DVLA if you want a plate thats not listed on there site ?
any hints or tips ?

kipper - 18/11/08 at 05:35 PM

I used to have the number plate FAT 30Y.
I bought it for a grand and had it on a toyota supra at the time.
I got sick of being pulled by the fuzz,(ooer) and advertised it in the Sunday Times. for offers. and made ten grand proffit
I bet it is worth twice that now though.

Persistence, I kept getting the standard reply which is pretty much register yourself for auction/release updates until one day I got the magic reply, its been released for ££££.

Guess it will only happen when the right person opens your email, one who will follow it up rather than click "std reply"

Thats how it looked to me anyway.
