get a trader policy cover everything (mines £280 ish I can drive everything except evo's and scoobies (but that doesnt bother me as I dont have one! allow 10% of time in kitcars!)
Im with lancashire insurance. My car is lightly modified but htey are pretty good and look past the basic stuff. Non standard alloys, less restrictive air filter etc
Have a try of skyinsurance.com.
They give discounts for members of owners clubs cos they understand that if you go to the trouble of joining a club then you must be an enthusiast.
Don't know wether locostbuilders isone of the one they recognise, but I bet theres a rover one you could join. Don't even think you need to
be a paid up member just a forum member. Im hopefully gonna with them for my tintop cos my insurance went up 150 quid this year.

the mods need to be divulged but the other killer is getting insurenca for what in effect is racing.
Most organised speed events have their own insurance so it may be cheapr to rely on that - it probably will cover third party but not your vehicle.
In the long run it;ll probably work out cheaper. You need really ask those people that dothis type of stuff.

Used to be a couple of blokes up here who sprinted a 216.
From memory, they did very well. The car was basically standard, but both drivers were very committed. They often put less capable drivers with more exotic machinery to shame.
The car was worthless.
Not such a daft idea.
DONT GO with SURETERM Direct - incompetent monkeys
