my brother has a citroen relay 2.2 turbo diesel with a coolant leak on the floor under the dash. is it likely to be the heater matrix or are there
any other common probs and if so is there an easy way to get to it or is it a dash out jobbie?
any info would be great
Im not a citroen expert but i would think that would be the heater matrix
Heater matrix too!
The liquid should smell bad. You can taste it from a finger tip, and it should definately not taste like water.
They say that you have to remove the dash. I did a Peugeot 405 once by using a hacksaw to cut the supporting structure underneith the dash, so it
could bend just enough to slide out the matrix. Afterwards I welded up the supporting structure and ready! Should be mentioned this was in a LHD
car.
Edit to ask: is he loosing coolant?

I'm in UNI atm but when I get back home later today I can check on my dads citroen repair manual, its like the service center program for fault mfinding and part ordering. If it throws up anything useful I'll let you know.
Is he having to top up a lot, does the van have air con? It could be the drain tube kinked or split.
