if you car is sorned and needs an MOT r u allowed to drive it to the MOT test centre so that it can get an MOT and then get taxed?

yep, as long as the mot is pre booked. coz you can't get tax til you have an mot

Yeah.. you have to make sure it's booked... if you did get stopped on the way there you would have to produce a MOT or Failure sheet with the correct date on it at the cop .

don't know if there is a limit on the distance from teh MOT station.... booked mine in scotland... i live near london

yeah just gone to re-tax my car online and thought that i had an MOT but it saying that i havent, so im guessing that its ran out, so ive had to sorned the car as its the end of the month tomorrow and i dont want to pick up a fine from the dvla etc

i think the distance would be up to the police, and judged as a 'reasonable distance' ie, to the next town. london to scotland, may be a bit much
