Transit / small van mpg
DarrenW - 4/12/08 at 07:16 PM

What mpg is possible for a swb newish diesel transit when driven steady?

I need to collect some stuff from Worcester. I can do the run in the car on about £40 diesel (220miles each way) but car is on small side so i cant fit much in. Transit is bigger but i need to work out hire cost and diesel.

I dont suppose anyone is passing there nearly empty and travelling north are they?

I live i worcester - I can collect whatever it is and store it for you until someone is going up there?

Hi
When my transit was new I could get over 40 to the gallon if I was steady

Now it's done over 100'000 I think it's down to low 30's
25mpg loaded and pushing it

Prawnabie - Thats a kind offer.
The goods are already in my mates warehouse so no probs with the storage.

Just wish i had a larger car or lived a little closer now.

25 - 30mpg eeeek! I get about double that in the car but then its hardly surprising.

what about a roofbox or trailer ??

I dont have a tow bar but do know someone with a super sized roof box. My car is 3 series tourer, which is strangely not that big.
