The handyman who does oddjobs for our company is into motorcycles and he and a frined have dabble with jet engines, I think from helicopters.

They are surprisingly cheap and not as dangerous as the layman would think.

Personally, as one of the laymen, I am staying well clear of them.

r/c planes are a good way to get into turbines though they'll still set you back about 2k just to get a simple jet in the air. Quite a few now up my club but I'm not quite sure yet if I really want one tbh

Sat on that at Goodwood a few years back. It was actually quite comfortable
